Morgan Long - Always Get A Second Opinion delves into a lengthy ACL recovery, dealings with a doctor who pushed for an unnecessary surgery, and return to full form. Photos shot around Morgan's home in Long Beach and the greater Los Angeles area.
Phil Bartlett - New In La-la Land - Interview shot with a longtime friend of mine, Phil Bartlett, who visited California all the way from Newfoundland this past January. Working on this project was especially rewarding as I've seen Phil's riding develop since he and I were both teens, and I cherished the opportunity to collaborate all these years later.
BSD's first ever printed catalog includes a shot of mine of David Grant from a trip up to Santa Barbara early last year. I was pleased with how the photo had turned out and glad to see it going to proper use.
Get To Know - Nick Castillo - Nick Castillo is a 21 year old rider living in Santa Barbara, who is in it for all the right reasons. From Nick's enthusiasm shoot up in SB to his reaction to the finished product, this was a rewarding project from start to finish.
Over the course of the past two years Volume Bikes main focus has been the production of 'The Finer Things' DVD. During this time I tagged along for countless filming days in Southern California, along with team trips to Salt Lake City, Utah and Phoenix, Arizona. Along with shooting a good bit of advertising material for the brand, I was able to stack a ton of photos of the team for a new feature article on DIG with Mike Mastroni detailing the making of the DVD. Congrats to Mike, and the entire Volume team/staff, for producing an amazing video!
Earlier this month DIG published an interview I shot with Stephan August, which coincided with the release of a DIG exclusive video produced by my longtime friend Chris Bracamonte. Stephan is a young rider with his head screwed on straight and I look forward to working with him further in the future.
